This is Sassy. We don't
know alot about Sassy's "background" as she came from a
shelter over in Kansas. I don't have a clue how this little
sweetie ended up in a shelter. It certainly was not a behavior
problem as her manners are just perfect. As I am typing this she
has been here less than 24 hours and she has not had one single accident
in the house. She gets along fine with all the other kids here
including the cats. She's also not afraid of men or kids so I
don't think she is a "breeder" from a kennel.
Sassy is a Yorkshire
Terrier. I can't say for certain that she is "pure bred"
but she does look like she is to me.
Sassy has already made
herself right at home. After I gave her a bath yesterday evening I
found her up on our bed rubbing her sides on the pillows on the
bed. Max always does this after a bath too. A little later I
found her up on the couch. Of course, none of this is a problem
here. My home is VERY pet friendly. If I have it...it's for
everyone here to use including the cats and dogs. Anyway, I was
just shocked that something so tiny could jump up so far! She also
knows just what the kitchen is all about. Right after I got home
with her yesterday Karl (my husband) was in the kitchen cooking
lunch. She joined the others in sitting there watching him just
waiting and hoping for him to drop something good to eat!
The paperwork from the
shelter says that she is 10 years old. I don't know if they know
this for a fact because someone brought her in or if they are just
guessing. I will get a "guesstimate" from our vet when I
bring her in to be checked out later this week. For now we will
make her birthday May 13, 1997. May 13 (yesterday as I am typing
this) is the day she came home with me. And, if she is 10 years
old then she would have been born in 1997. As Sassy has only been
here less than 24 hours I don't have many pics of her just yet. I
will add more pics as I take them.
