Dog Treat Recipes

These are NOT my recipes!  These recipes came to me through a friend.  That friend got these recipes from The Pet Nanny of Topeka.  Here is her contact information:

Also, The Pet Nanny has LOTS more recipes.  These are just the four I decided to make for my kids for Christmas!  Of course, I'm going to share all that I made with a couple of my friends who love dogs.  So, even if you don't have a dog you could make some of these and give them to a friend who does have a dog!

BASIC DOG TREAT RECIPE

1/2 cup corn meal

1/2 cup water or meat broth

5 tablespoons oil

2 cups whole wheat flour

Mix ingredients well.  Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness.  Cut into shapes with cookie cutters.  Baste with extra meat drippings.  Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

BACON BISCUITS

5 cups whole wheat flour

2 eggs

1 pinch onion powder or garlic powder

1/2 cup cold water

1 cup milk

10 tablespoons vegetable oil or bacon fat

1 teaspoon salt

Mix all ingredients well.  Pinch off pieces of the dough and roll into 2 inch balls.  Put balls on a greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.  Let cool then store in an airtight container.  Makes 40 treats.

PEANUT BUTTER TREATS
