Well, this is Lil Willie. Lil Willie started his life in a puppymill. The person who runs the puppymill could see that Lil Willie had some sort of medical problem. She contacted 7 Bells Sanctuary about taking Lil Willie. Karl and I volunteer with 7 Bells Sanctuary. So, Lil Willie came here to live with us as a foster child. We brought Lil Willie to the University of Missouri at Columbia's vet school. They found that Lil Willie has PDA. We don't know how long Lil Willie will live but that didn't matter to us. Karl absolutely fell in love with Lil Willie and Lil Willie has fallen in love with Karl. So, yes, Karl has failed Fostering 101 again. On March 17, 2007 Karl signed the Adoption Contract to make Lil Willie a permanent member of The Timmerman Gang.
Lil Willie was born on December 2, 2006. He is a sweet little guy. Right now he acts rather healthy...running around a barking when he decides he wants or needs something. Mostly he barks at me. I think he thinks I am his servant or something! He also thinks that my office is his personal bathroom! We haven't really started any housebreaking. When he decides he needs to "go potty" he runs in here in my office and does his "business" and then runs out and goes back to Karl! Do you think he's trying to tell me something about how he feels about me? LOL
Lil Willie started a diary when he was still a foster here. I started a page for him that is filled with photos of him (we take LOTS of pictures of him simply because he's so darned cute! He also has his original "fosters" page here at Chappy's Place. Here are the links to those pages.

The picture above is of Lil Willie and Buddy in the chair with Karl. Lil Willie is tucked into Karl's housecoat! Buddy is ALWAYS in the chair with Karl. Both of these little guys are Karl's buddies!
This picture was taken on March 15, 2007. He was one tired puppy!
OK...I won't preach here but I would like to ask you all to NOT buy from pet stores or puppymills! There are SO many dogs and cats in shelters and rescues. Alot of the dogs in both places ARE pure breed dogs! Besides the fact that the dogs that are being bred are not treated very well (they are not usually very social at all...they are scared of humans because of the way they are treated), they are also bred over and over again without any sort of break between. Dogs are like humans in that regard. If a human female has baby after baby with hardly any time between the babies can have substantial health problems when they are born or they can develop them later in life. The same goes with puppies. So, please, when you are ready to add a new member to your family, a new member of the furry four-legged variety, please go to your local shelter or rescue group. You can also look online. There are a few different sites that have shelters and rescues as members. For instance, PetFinder.com - there is a banner up towards the top of this page where you can put in your info and then it will bring to you PetFinder.com so you can look for your next furry family member.
