This will be Hoppy's diary! Knowing Hoppy...I am sure there will be plenty he will want to tell you about! He is such a funny boy! He just loves to get into stuff...he just HAS to check stuff out! Like Tootsie...he may not write in his diary every day but he promises he will do it once a week!

HEY! Hoppy here! I am such a happy boy right now! I am not in a fur-ever home but I am in a nice foster home! Grandma Judy thought that it might do me some good to get into a smaller "pack" so here I am. Grandma Judy also said that I would get sad when people would come to visit us at 7 Bells Sanctuary and the people would talk and play with me but they never would bring me home. So, on June 30 Mom (Susan) came to visit again. And, when she left SHE TOOK ME WITH HER!!!! Now, I am here with Tootsie and Lil Buddy who I knew from 7 Bells Sanctuary. And, Max is here too. He is such a nice dog!
I have already been into mischief too! Just yesterday I got my head stuck in the wrought iron gate outside! Well, I wasn't really stuck but it took a bit of doing to get my head out! I just wanted to look out so I managed to get my head straight and got my head between two of the bars. Well, as soon as I got my head through the bars my head went back tilted. When I tried to pull my head out it wouldn't come out because my head was tilted! Boy did Mom get frazzled over that one! She thought I was really stuck. Before she could get to me I got my head out! She said she would NEVER open the wooden gate so that we could see out the wrought iron gate unless she was right there so that I couldn't get my head through the bars! LOL
Well...that's it for now. I'm sure I will get into more adventures and I'll have to come tell you about them!

Well, I am happy to report that what I am about to tell you did NOT happen to me! This time it is Buddy that got himself in a fix! Mom always goes to bed earlier than Dad does. Mom goes in and turns on the TV in the bedroom and lays in bed and watches a little TV. I get on my pillow on the floor. Tootsie lays on her blanket right by Mom & Dad's bed. Max is either up in bed with Mom or he goes in and gets on the couch. Buddy usually gets up in bed with Mom. Well, Chappy (my favorite cat here) usually gets up there with Mom too. Well, last night as Mom was laying there Chappy jumped up there and was walking around on the bed a little and Buddy, not being the smartest dog ever, tried to "mount" Chappy!!!!! Chappy was NOT pleased! She turned around and smacked Buddy right on his nose! Buddy yelped and Mom just laughed! Wonder how long it will take before Buddy tries that again? LOL

Well, it's been a while since I've written in my diary. Nothing really exciting has been happening though. I have, however, explored every single closet that I can get to in this house!!! It's not that I want to "do" anything in there....I just wanna see what's in there! I like the closet's in Mom and Dad's bedroom and the linen closet in the bathroom. Those closets have sliding doors so when I push on one door it bangs against the other door and makes a nice banging sound. For some reason Mom and Dad don't like that sound...especially at night they don't like that sound...I just don't understand them sometimes! Mom will hollar at me..."Hoppy...Hoppy...HOPPY". I just sort of ignore her. Then, she gets up out of bed and comes over and picks me up and puts me back on my pillow. I know she's not really mad though cause I hear her chuckling!
We do have a new foster kid here though. Mom brought her here just this past Monday (08/21/06). She's a nice Yorkie named Corkie! I won't write too much about her here though cause Mom has her a page and diary set up...or she will soon! That's about it for now....talk to ya'll later!

WOW...what an adventure I had on Friday, September 8! Mom brought me, Tootsie & Buddy to see Doc! I had my teeth cleaned...that part was NOT fun! But, I had SO much fun wandering around the clinic and checking everything out! Mom let me run free for a little bit. I got to meet the nice lady that works there and she got down on the floor to talk to me and to pet me! What a nice lady! Mom said that she has to bring Buddy and Tootsie back this Friday (September 22) to have their teeth cleaned and she said that I might get to go along for the ride. That will be fun! To get to go for a ride but to NOT have to see Doc to have him do anything to me will be lots of fun. Maybe I will be able to check out the clinic again? I sure hope so! So, until this coming Friday this is Hoppy signing off....

WOW...I had another exciting day yesterday! Corkie (who has now gone to the Bridge), Buddy and Tootsie had to go see Doc. Mom brought me along for the ride! I got to check out Doc's office all over again! And, I got to greet every single person that came in while I was there! VERY exciting! Buddy and Tootsie had their teeth cleaned. After they woke up some we left and Mom, Auntie Marti and Grandma Judy went to this little drive in place to have a bite of lunch. Since Buddy and Tootsie were still a little bit groggy they stayed in the van with Mom checking on them often. I got to get out and Mom put me on my leash and I got to greet everyone that came to get some lunch. Auntie Marti shared her hamburger with me too! What a good and exciting day!

HEY! How have you all been? I've just been so busy doing my usual checking stuff out that I simply haven't had time to write! I only have one small bit of exciting news to tell you all! I am going to get to go with Mom and Dad to the nursing home here in town! Grandma Judy got Mom interested in visiting the nursing home with at least one of us. Mom has filled out the paperwork at the nursing home so that she can go for visits. So, on November 1 we are going to go for our first visit. It will be me, Mom, Dad and Buddy! I will be sure to write again and tell you all how it goes. Mom says that I am so naturally curious that she thinks I will have a really good time! I am sure she is right!

Hey Ya'll! I know it's been a while since I've written but I have been SO busy! I've been even more busy since Mom put up the Christmas tree! I get under it all the time! See, there is just enough room for me to get under there and rub my back on the branches! Those branches do give the BEST scritches! Mom just laughs and then makes me get from under the tree! I don't knock anything off....just rub and scritch! Other than that things have been pretty quiet. We have had a few new foster kidz here. Three total....two have already found new homes and one (Marcy) is still here. The first to leave was Courtney. She was the tiniest little Yorkie I have ever seen! Then, Izzy found her new home. Izzy was the coolest Boston Terrier! She kept trying to get all of us to play but we are all too old to waste our energy playing. Izzy is just 2 years old. The lady that took Izzy to her house to be one of her babies has a 21 year old son. He came here with her to meet Izzy. Mom said that Judy (Izzy's new Mom) told her that Judy's son REALLY liked me! There has been no other mention of it but hopefully they will not forget me and will want to adopt me the same way they did Izzy! I am such a good boy....I know this because Mom tells me this all the time and I know she wouldn't lie to me!
Until Next Time....Hoppy

First, Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! Now, second...I know it's been a while since I've written and, to be honest, it's only because I've been lazy! We have had a few things going on over here but I just haven't taken the time to write. First of all I was busy being a pillow! We had a little hospice foster hound here for a while and she insisted on using me as a pillow. Her name was Mustang Sally. Sadly, she has gone on to the Rainbow Bridge now. I wasn't especially happy at being used as a pillow but I do miss her. We have a new hospice foster pup here now! His name is Lil Willie and he is a pain in my back end! He doesn't try to use me as a pillow but he sure does have some sharp puppy teeth! He barks and barks at me trying to get me to play with him. I'm too old for that playing crap...takes too much energy! At my age napping is MUCH better than playing!
I did have an adventure yesterday that I must tell you about! Actually, I had many adventures in one! We (we being me, Mom, Lil Willie, Tootsie and 85) all went to Cole Camp yesterday. 85 went to the "spa" to have a whole new hairdo! While she was there we went to the pharmacy in Cole Camp, Cole Camp Pharmacy. We had to go get the medicine for Lil Willie. Then, we went to Sedalia to pick up two poodles who are in foster care to bring them back to the groomer where 85 was. I didn't go in the groomer's but it's called Precious Paws and it's there in Cole Camp too. I'm not the "foo-foo" kind...I don't need all that special grooming stuff but I must say, 85 really did look nice when they were done with her! Anyway, after dropping those two poodles off at the groomer we went to 7 Bells Sanctuary to visit with all the kids there. I had so much fun out in the play yard with all the kids! Then, a little bit later we went to the Good Samaritan Care Center there in Cole Camp. I got to go in and visit with the residents there. That was pretty exciting as some of the ladies there were having an ice cream social! 85, Lil Willie and Toots all got to go inside too but I think I was the "hit" of the day! After visiting with the ladies at the ice cream social we went back to the TV room at the center. There was one lady named Sue who was all stretched out in a recliner. She wanted to hold me. So, I got to get up in the recliner with her and she petted and petted me! She was a really nice lady! After that we headed back home. What a busy day!
Until next time....Hoppy

Well...it's been a while! I've just been so busy napping and eating and pooping and peeing that I simply haven't had time to write! But, I decided today was the day simply because I had an adventure yesterday! I got to ride along when Mom and Grandma Judy brought Lil Willie to the University of Missouri vet clinic to have a test done! Let's see...it was me, Mom, Lil Willie, Grandma Judy, Cinder and Mazee. When we first got there I got to go in and see all the sights and sniff all the smells. I got to go back with Mom, Grandma Judy and Lil Willie. While we were back waiting for the doctor I had a NICE surprise! I got to meet a new auntie! Her name is Michelle and she lives and works right there in Columbia! She had seen me on the PetFinder site before and she and her friends Connie and Pye just fell in LOVE with me! Auntie Michelle sat down on the floor and petted and scritched me almost the whole time we were there! Then, the doctor came in and they brought Lil Willie back to the back for tests. So, we all left and went to where Auntie Connie works (also right there at the University). Auntie Connie LOVES me!!!! I just talked and talked to her as she scritched me! Then, Mom and Grandma Judy and all us dogs left there and went to find a place for Mom and Grandma Judy to get some lunch. Then we went back to the vet clinic to get Lil Willie. I didn't go in that time. Mom and Grandma Judy finally came out with Lil Willie and we were on the road again headed back home. Quite an adventure for an old man such as myself!
And, just a quick note to Auntie Michelle, Auntie Connie and Auntie Pye....I LOVE you all and it was wonderful to get to meet you!!!
Till next time....Hoppy
