I am proud to be an American. As a Vietnam Vet I have earned the right to voice my opinion so that you may voice yours. We live in difficult times. Man's inhumanity to man is a sad legacy of our inability to appreciate the gift that God has given us. We have a mandate to insure the well-being of the lives that God has entrusted to our care. Having to watch Cutter transcend from a battle to live, to a battle to die has been one of the hardest things that I have ever done in my life. I cannot help but think that if we love our companions enough to help them in their struggle for life, then we should also help them in their struggle to die. Life is on the job training. I don't know anyone that went to school to learn how to live. We are put here on Earth programmed to fail so that we can learn how to live. I heard once that there are people who have learned from other people's mistakes...I must be pretty dumb because I've never been able to do that...I've always had to learn from my own mistakes. I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Doctorate in Law, yet I want to share with you that all this education has shown me how little I really know. Guess the sign of true intelligence is the knowledge that you don't know squat.

I am blessed with the most wonderful partner that anyone can have. A Lady who makes my heart sing. I wake up every morning thanking God that his "tender mercies" include the gift of Susan to me.

I like to take pictures as an expression of the way I view the world. You and I have a God given mandated responsibility to be the care-takers of the many lives that comprise our reality. This is not a task to be taken lightly but a task that we must fulfill to complete our God given mandate.

If you can drift off to sleep each night knowing that the lives that have been entrusted to you are well and safe then you can sleep well. If not, reevaluate your priorities.

I wish you well. I wish you the ability to drift off to sleep in the arms of God's love and in the arms of the person that God has given you so that you may sleep well. By the "tender mercies" of God, I remain very truly yours....Karl H. Timmerman, M.A., J.D.

Note from Susan:  This page is VERY graphics intensive...please be patient while the page loads!

Below are pictures that Karl has taken.  The ones of the "pond" are from our yard.  The one of the older lady and Karl is Karl and his mother (she is such a dear lady).  The majority (if not all) of the "flower" pics are from a local botanical garden in the Metro Kansas City Area called Powell Gardens.  There are also two pics of Karl and I from our wedding in Las Vegas.  Naturally he did not take those pics!  LOL

Just one more thing....if you would like to see more of Karl's pictures you can go to http://www.karltimmerman.com
