Little Belle passed to the
Rainbow Bridge on May 10, 2006. I know this will sound bad but
Belle's passing did not devastate me as much as Justy's did. You
see, we knew Belle had cancer and that it was only a matter of
time. It
was back in early April when we found out. I was sitting at my
desk and Belle and Justy were up here in their beds as usual. I
looked over at Belle and noticed a "growth" in her
mouth. I looked closer and it looked like she had an infected
tooth because there was a tooth coming out of the growth. This on
a Friday evening. I called the vet early Saturday morning.
As usual they made room for me. They are SO good. Dr. Morse
took one look and I could tell that it wasn't good. He said it
looked like cancer. We made an appointment for the following
Monday morning for him to remove as much of the tumor as possible and to
send it to the lab. It was cancer. Karl and I decided not to
put Belle through all the chemo and stuff. I just don't think
Belle would have understood. If someone tells you that you have
cancer you understand when they give you chemo and you feel like total
crap. Belle would not have understood why I kept bringing her to
this place where they hurt her and made her feel bad. So, we just
decided to keep her here with us and make sure she was as comfortable
and happy as possible. I watched her closely. When I tried
to give her some chicken on May 9 and she wouldn't eat it (chicken was
one of Belle's favorites) I knew it was time. I called the vet and
made the appointment for the next day. Karl and I stayed there
with her until she had passed on. We held her, loved on her and
told her how much we loved her. I also told her to tell Justy
hello for me when she got to the Rainbow Bridge.
This page will be filled with
my favorite pics of Belle. She was such a sweet baby.
I love you so much Little Belle and I miss you terribly..... |
