This is 85's page. Her
name is really Angel but I call her 85 all the time. I assume
you want to know why I have given such a cute baby such a funny
name. 85 is a bit scared still (I'll explain that in just a few
minutes). She hides from me all the time. Well, I was
walking through my office looking for her saying "Angel, where are
you?" The TV was on and I had it on NFL Network as I almost
always do and they were playing the Chad Johnson commercial where they
are singing "Where ya at 85?". So, I started singing
along with the commercial. At the point where I sang "Where
ya at 85?" Angel stuck her head out from under the Karunda
bed! To me it was like she was saying "Here I am" so she
became 85! LOL If Chad Johnson ever found out I think he'd
be a bit upset. First, she's a she! Second, she's a
poodle!!!! If she were some type of big "brute" of a dog
I don't think he'd mind. But, a poodle? LOL
Now, for why she hides.
Poor 85 is such a scared baby! 85 came to me from a rescue group
in Morse Mill, Missouri. That rescue group is called FlawDogs.
Anyway, Sally (the lady who runs FlawDogs) had someone pay the adoption
fee for her and then when they came to get her they decided they
couldn't take her. They didn't want their money back though!
I don't know why they decided they couldn't take her....she is SO
sweet! So, Sally gave her to me! Someone found 85 wandering
around in a small town here in Missouri and she was walking around in
circles. When Sally first got her they thought she was blind
because her eyes were closed and she had rubbed all the fur from around
her eyes. Well, after taking a really close look at her they found
that her eyes had been Super Glued shut!!!!!! Can you
imagine? What type of sick person could do that? But,
anyway, Sally worked and worked and finally got the Super Glue from her
eyes. They minute they let her down after getting her eyes open
she ran to a window and looked out. They said it was as if she was
saying "WOW...I can see again"! The fur has grown back
around her eyes and she is a beautiful girl! The only damage that
was done with the Super Glue is that one of her eyes is cloudy.
They said her cornea was damaged but she can still see some out of
it. The other eye is perfectly fine!
85 has been with us since
October 6, 2006. So, I am making October 6 her
"birthday". They think she is about 10-12 years
old. As I said, she is a bit scared and has "trust"
issues. But, really, who could blame her? She obviously
trusted whoever Super Glued her eyes shut!!!! I just keep telling
her that NO ONE will ever hurt her again. |
