I became aware of 7 Bells Sanctuary after a spot that was on our local Fox TV station morning show.  They had THE cutest little Yorkie on the show that was from 7 Bells Sanctuary.  I got on the Fox stations website and found the link to 7 Bells Sanctuary.  I wrote the lady who runs the sanctuary about the little Yorkie (his name is Michael).  Well, they already had a possible home for Michael but after talking with two ladies from 7 Bells Sanctuary it was decided that Karl and I would make an excellent long-term foster home.  So, I went out to 7 Bells Sanctuary just a few days later and picked up my first foster child.  Her name is Tootsie.  She is a 13 year old Yorkie and is just as sweet as can be.  At 13 she will probably be with us until God decides that it's time for her to go on to the Rainbow Bridge but even if someone does come along that wants to adopt her that person will be screened VERY carefully.  First they are screened by the ladies that run 7 Bells Sanctuary (Judy, Marti and Jo Anne) and then I would be able to meet that person and make sure that they are "good people" and that Tootsie likes them.  They are a WONDERFUL group and they do some amazing work.  I count myself lucky to have found them and to now be volunteering with them.

Judy is the "head honcho" of 7 Bells Sanctuary.  7 Bells Sanctuary is her baby.  Her passion is saving as many senior dogs as possible.  She has some very personal reasons for the work she does with these senior dogs but if you could meet her you would see that she gives her all to these babies.  And, she screens VERY carefully before she adopts one of the babies in her care.  She does what is best for those babies.  I felt as if I had met someone just like me the minute I met her.  She loves her babies as much as I love all of mine.  I am proud to be a volunteer with 7 Bells Rescue.  I have met two of the other ladies that work with Judy.  They also have personal, private reasons for the work they do.  As to why I volunteer with them...well, it's my love of all of God's animals that are so mistreated by some humans.  Just because a dog or cat gets old doesn't mean that they don't have plenty of life and love left in them.  Unfortunately it seems that the general population in the USA has a "throw away" mentality.  Not everyone...but it sure does seem that there are alot of them.  When they have no use for something they just throw it away.  Doesn't seem to matter if it is one of God's living, breathing, caring creatures or a scrap piece of paper!  I just think that is SO sad!  I have always had a soft spot for older animals.  They are so hard to adopt out sometimes because folks seem to usually want a "puppy" or "kitten".  All 7 Bells Sanctuary usually deals with are senior dogs.  Judy will take in a puppy now and then but they are usually transported to another lady that Judy knows that runs another rescue group and that lady transports the senior dogs she gets to Judy.

7 Bells Sanctuary is located in Cole Camp, Missouri.  So, if Cole Camp, Missouri is too far for you to drive to adopt a dog...consider going to the 7 Bells Sanctuary site and making a donation.  Judy does not have high adoption rates.  All she wants back from the adoption fee is the money to cover any vet bills she has spent on that particular dog and maintenance medicines for the special needs dogs that take longer to find their fur-ever homes.  Judy is not in this to make any money.  Her only concern is for those babies that have been placed in her care.
